WelcomeDedicated to the Pursuit of Writing and Music (Check out Jeff's Music in the Gallery) (Check out Jeff's Podcast in the Media Section) Residing around the Murfreesboro/Nashville area, Jeff Russell is a freelance writer, musician, and songwriter who had been working in the music/writing scene for close to 10 years. Jeff has played with numerous artists, and he has written many works that have been published with The Murfreesboro Pulse and Middle Tennessee State University's Journal of Creative Expression. Playing music and writing has been Jeff's main focus since his teenage years, and now his work has come full circle. Jeff has worked in television, radio, and music since his days of undergraduate study, and he still continues to be involved with the best of fresh, new talent in the Murfreesboro/Nashville Area.
In one recent article with the Murfreesboro Pulse, one reader had this to say: I have known John Salaway (whose Acoustic Revolution record was reviewed by Jeff Russell, MP Vol 2, Issue 2) for a long time now, and I have enjoyed his steady progress.
Currently, Jeff is working on his latest music, poetry, and lives with his fiance' Jennifer and dog Layla(just like the Clapton song). Through writing, Jeff is able to capture the essence of what is true in life, what's true in sound, and what is true for the future of tomorrow's next great musicians. -- Written by Christopher Britian
Also, feel free to check out www.myspace.com/jeffrussellmusic | Features Well Folks...It's been a long time. I have been busy writing papers for school and trying to become even more educated in these poor economic times. For a short while, I have been adding news that I find about music when I can find the time. I also was working on a podcast called Euterpe through a free site called Gcast (part of Garageband). Unfortunately, it has become a pay site, but never fear, I think I have found another to start a fresh new series this summer. Although the southeast has seen some pretty cold weather over the last few months, many music events are gearing up once again. I'll try my best to still keep my eyes and ears out for anything new and special, and I'll hopefully be able to check out the local music scenes in Tennessee as well. Keep your hat on tight and I'll try to get things moving here soon. I'll be posting new releases for new bands on the blog, and hopefully have some music reviews on the website. Before you know it, summer will be here and the music will be flowing. And once I get back in the swing of things, I'll be throwing some Twitter stuff out there to remind you upcoming special events. That is if the creek don't rise...never mind. Feel free to check out everything else that is posted and soon I'll have some new stuff for ya.....Catch a great summer event before the fall hits with My Morning Jacket at Riverfront Park, Friday August 15, 2008 at 8 p.m---
And yes, it is true, this may be one of the best rock n' roll bands in the country at the moment.
